Adoptables

Adoptions
** 100% of adoption fees goes towards feeding, vetting and caring for the birds in need**
Adoption fees are not set by the going rate of the birds.
Some require far more in the way of vetting than others.
We require that you meet the birds prior to adopting as we think of them as our own and only want what's best for them.
Birds will choose their people and will also make it very clear if they do not like you at all.
We do not want them in an unhappy environment.
When applying for a bird(s) please be sure to specify the birds name.
If you are interested in adopting any of the parrots listed please fill out the adoption application or message us for more information
and we will get back to you just as soon as possible.
Larger birds may be available and not listed for adoption. Please send a message if there is a particular bird you are looking for.
* Be aware that we will never adopt out any birds from December 1 - January 1st *
As much as we want to see them all get homes they must be forever homes and for this reason they will not be adopted out as Christmas presents.
Family & Love is not found under a tree one day a year, it is in your heart year round

Pepper

Picture
Picture
Pepper is an 11 year old umbrella cockatoo who's mama had passed away.
Pepper is very social and likes to be a part of everything!

Pepper is an absolute sweet heart and very loving. She really yearns for affection and will need someone that has lots of time to give it to her.
She is very bird friendly and wants to be friends with all the birds here.
She is definitely the submissive type and literally runs or flies away if they approach her in an intrusive way.
Pepper can be very vocal and screams loud when she wants something or something is making her anxious…
ie the dog under her cage looking for scraps, another bird screaming or just being demanding.
Bedtime is daylight dependant and right now is at about 6:00pm
Supper time is 5:00pm or she starts screaming! After she eats she does some grooming and relaxes a bit.
It is all about routine for keeping her happy.
Pepper says “hello” very sweetly in a number of ways when ever you walk by or acknowledge her.
She says a couple other things like" I love you"  but is a bit hard to understand.
She waves, turns around, gives kisses, high fives. She can still be quite stubborn with step up but if you have pine nuts she will do just
about anything! You must be cautious when putting toys or bags or even cleaning up her cage as she tends to lunge a bit.
I just think she’s a bit territorial of her belongings. Pepper loves her wooden toys and will chew boxes and ropes, wood toys and shake acrylic ones too.
She loves to climb high and be comical. Can be quite picky with parrot food
however devours just about any human food. Her favorite parrot food are those baked big pellet things and Roudy Bush.
Loves green beans! Fresh is best in her eyes. Pepper is out of her cage with the door open most of the day as she keeps herself busy with all she has to play with and chew. She doesn’t seem to be destructive to other things so
that’s good. Pepper is good inside her cage if she needs to be but it isn’t very big for her and she is no problem being out. She has a stubborn streak so you do need to be firm with her when it’s needed otherwise I think she
would walk all over you and try to get away with murder. Pepper needs other flock members and a very loving person to continue to thrive. You can really see that her mama loved her and spoiled her.
That’s all she’s used to so we would hate for Pepper to have to live any different.

Marcus

Marcus is a 32 year old Goffin's cockatoo.
Marcus had been with the same owner for 30 years until life threw a curveball and they could no longer stay together.
Marcus is a sweet loving little fella who would love to have the same stability and commitment that he had for 30 years.
Marcus is quite quiet for a goffin's cockatoo.
He would benefit living with someone who can give him plenty of attention and lots of out of cage time.
He does not have a gender preference, he is good with everyone.

He’s very smart but would definitely benefit from some training, which would be a great bonding activity.

Toodles

Picture
Picture
Toodles is an 11 year old female corella (bare eyed) cockatoo who is full of life and wants someone who can spend tons of time with her.
She loves to have her head scratched and would spend all day on your lap for this.
She is out of her cage as much as she can be and dances to almost any music.
She has a favorite song that she likes and will really ham it up when it plays, especially if you sing and dance along. I play this for her when I get in from work and open her cage.
Like most cockatoos she can be very loud when she needs something.
She will also pluck if she doesn't get the attention she needs so she must go to a home that has cockatoo experience and plans to interact with her and treat her as family.
She loves music and dancing with you and loves when you sing to her
She not much of a talker but makes up for it in personality!
She has been let down in the past and needs someone who will love her totally and unconditionally.

Teeko
Teeko is an 8 year old female eclectus.
Teeko's mama became very ill in Sept./ Oct. of 2021 and ended up being hospitalized and eventually passed.
For at least a month Teeko was cared for by relatives who were not bird people but did make sure she was fed, but she was basically feral in the house.
She had countless eggs under an armchair and was ready to attack when you came near. Seriously plucked and lacking in fresh foods when she came to us.
Since then she has been getting plenty of fresh foods, showers and plenty of calcium to replenish her little body.
She is still not happy with people and growls and tries to attack when you go near.
She talks up a storm and is quite entertaining.
Teeko would need a very patient home with knowledge of the eclectus parrot.
