Adoptions
** 100% of adoption fees goes towards feeding, vetting and caring for the birds in need**
Adoption fees are not set by the going rate of the birds.
Some require far more in the way of vetting than others.
We require that you meet the birds prior to adopting as we think of them as our own and only want what's best for them.
Birds will choose their people and will also make it very clear if they do not like you at all.
We do not want them in an unhappy environment.
When applying for a bird(s) please be sure to specify the birds name.
If you are interested in adopting any of the parrots listed please fill out the adoption application or message us for more information
and we will get back to you just as soon as possible.
Larger birds may be available and not listed for adoption. Please send a message if there is a particular bird you are looking for.
* Be aware that we will never adopt out any birds from December 1 - January 1st *
As much as we want to see them all get homes they must be forever homes and for this reason they will not be adopted out as Christmas presents.

Stella and Dawn are an adorable pair of lovebird girls.
They are approximately 10 years old and as you can see are splay legged. These girls are from my two separate blood lines but seem to get on okay despite one of them trying to rip the other ones beak off several years ago. You can see the scars near her nostrils. Despite the obvious leg problems, nature has allowed them to adapt to their condition and they have basically been left alone for a number of years by their previous owner. So long that their names were long forgotten. Although they get veggies, pellets and fruit daily, all they ever eat is seed and they will nibble on the odd boiled egg. Definitely not hand tame at all and fierce when cornered. They came with a big wooded breeding box and would always hide in it. Through their time here we have taken away the box and have allowed a half pop case upside down for them to hide if they feel the need. This is rarely used now. For the most part they love to hang out on their shelves and soak up some sunshine while sitting on their platforms. They are still somewhat skittish with people around but no longer to the point of panic. They are very good flyers and will give you a good work out if you try to catch them while out. We have found gently scooping them up in a towel is the best way to catch them. Stella (the green one) will allow you to pet her head while in the towel. |
Bob is a blue crowned conure and is guessed to be 15 - 17 years old.
He is a retired breeder who outlived his mate. As such Bob is not a talker and is a very quiet little fellow other than flock calling. When he comes out of the cage he is still a little skittish but once he calms down he is quite friendly. He will let you know when he’s had enough cuddle time but he loves to be out of his cage on a stand. He really prefers to be around people so he can hear and see what’s going on. He’s not a fan of being right with other birds but will flock call back and forth with other birds that are in the house. Bob cannot fly although he will try. Bob loves his apples, peppers, bananas and birdie bread. He is not a fan of carrots at all! He has a bit of a hard time perching on hands. This may be due to a caution of hands still. But once he is settled on you he is fine and will let you pet him. Bob is a harmless old fella who would love a happy home with some freedom and a loving family. |
